You might know the feeling. You’re excited about starting something new, but something is stopping you. Staring down the barrel of uncertainty, an impassable wall of doubt towers overhead. Of course, giving up is the easy way out. But maybe there’s another option. In these moments, I ask myself a simple question: what would my dog do?
In talking to my trainer about pushing through the harder days, he gave it to me straight: picturing the task complete will pull you through it. Sitting in doubt gets you nowhere. See, I believe there’s a switch inside. Call it willpower, or grit, or whatever you want–just past the voices that say you can’t, and even beyond the ones that say you can. It’s the one that says you will. No hesitation. When I look at Yaya & Boo, I believe this is what I’m seeing. Full throttle, every time.
When I had Momo, I started a project called Be More Like Your Dog. It became dormant and floated in a sea of uncertainty. I was afraid of failing at a project that honoured a dog I loved so much. Long story short, I’ve asked that question: what would my dogs do, and as a result, I’ve rebooted the project.
I hope to host events eventually, collaborate with organizations I like, and give a little back to a rotating dog rescue. Mainly, I want this project to spread the good word about being more like your dog. Unless your dog is a beagle.
Check out the video on YouTube.
Also, I’m modeling my own products! Because I genuinely love these things. I’m particular to the black sweatshirt, I’ve worn it almost every day since I got the prototype a few months ago. Huge thanks to Sophie Gamand for being the best photographer there is.

Some of our dogs are always adventure ready like Yaya & Boo. Some are a little, let’s say, sleepier. But they all have something to teach us. So before you go, tell me one thing: what does it mean to be more like your dog?
With love,
Andrew, Yaya, & Boo

Hi Andrew,
Andrew, I just saw your video and look forward to following your journey.
I have a 3 year old collie who appears in all of my posts - 5 so far.
Your words about putting the fear aside and just moving forward resonate with me.
Thank you!
