This post caught my eye - 1 because of the border collie and 2 because of place.
I always liked the Sunshine Coast when I was growing up. No doubt it has changed a lot since I left Australia but it was nice to read this update . Thank you for sharing
Oh to be a Canadian... We love a similar place in Quebec and would move there in a heartbeat if it weren't for the winter and the challenges of the province's health care systems.
The challenges of aging include the need to be near health care with readily available specialists.
A lovely and daring guide! I say daring because I too live in a remote location with incredible natural beauty where the locals get freaked out any time we (the Methow Valley) are mentioned in a travel article. But I thank you for your suggestions. If visitors from the USA are not too vilified in British Columbia this summer, I may be paying a visit to the Sunshine Coast!
I can only speak for myself that when I see US plates, I feel like they are guests who are supporting our local businesses and enjoying our natural beauty. Hope this resonates ❤️
Nice recommandations! And beautiful video. I'd love to visit Gibsons, usually I stay around the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island to visit my husband's family.
“When the place you live becomes the most beautiful place you’ve been, that alone is a good reason to stay.” I feel the exact same after moving to the coast five years ago. You expressed so much of what I’ve felt about that journey of staying/leaving/staying really beautifully! Great list too 🙂
Aww thanks Jody! Hope you see you soon! Will be going to one of your art battles I promise. I went to the last one but I got to the door and, no lie, my social anxiety suddenly kicked into high gear and I had to turn around and went home lol. 😂
Thanks for sharing, Andrew. I’m glad this place has been restorative for you, Boo & YaYa. Would love to venture up to the Sunshine Coast from my Oregon home at some point and appreciate your insightful guide 💜

Sounds soooo appealing! Have Americans been flooding into your country?
